Davis Controls Limited (DCL) Supplier Acknowledgement on Conflict Minerals Rules
DCL has established itself as a reputable organization with high Ethical and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) standard. As a socially responsible organization, DCL conducts business fairly & ethically, respects human rights, and complies with laws & regulations. Maintaining integrity in the business relationship between DCL and its existing and/or potential suppliers (collectively, Suppliers) is critical to maintaining our reputation. As a Supplier to DCL, please review the following and acknowledge your understanding below.
1. In August 2012, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission enacted rules imposing diligence and disclosure obligations on public companies that manufacture or contract to manufacture products where conflict minerals are necessary to the functionality or production of such products.
2. Under this rule, conflict minerals currently include tin, tungsten, tantalum and gold. The goal of the conflict minerals rule is to help end civil conflict and human rights abuses in the Democratic Republic of Congo ("DRC") and adjoining countries (collectively, the "DRC Region") committed by armed militant groups by denying revenue to those groups that derive their funding from control of mines in the DRC Region that produce conflict minerals.
3. DCL supports the goal of the conflict minerals rule of preventing armed groups in the DRC Region from benefitting from the sourcing of conflict minerals from that region. Accordingly, DCL suppliers are expected to supply materials to DCL that are "DRC Conflict-Free".
4. Materials supplied to DCL that contain conflict minerals are "DRC Conflict Free" if the conflict minerals did not originate in the DRC Region, are from recycled or scrap sources, or have not directly or indirectly financed or be -n - Checkefitted the armed groups in the DRC Region. Conflict minerals that a supplier obtains from a smelter or refiner listed on the CFSP compliant smelter list shall be considered DRC Conflict Free by DCL. 5. Suppliers are expected to adopt conflict mineral policies, due diligence frameworks and management systems that are designed to prevent conflict minerals that are not DRC Conflict Free from being included in the materials sold to DCL and to require their suppliers to adopt similar policies, frameworks and systems.
