Handheld Thermocouple Probes with Fixed Length or Retractable CableJHIN-RSC:
Probes made from OMEGACLAD® wire are available with either 304 SS, 310 SS, 316 SS, 321 SS and Super XL or Inconel® 600 Sheathing. 304 SS is rated to 900°C (1650°F) and 321 SS is rated to 870°C (1600°F), while Inconel is rated to 1150°C (2100°F). 304 SS and 321 SS are recommended for general chemical applications, food applications, oil refinery use and steam lines. 321 SS is the same as 304 SS except for the addition of titanium as a stabilizer. The titanium helps prevent weld decay at temperatures above 650°C (1200°F). Inconel 600 is preferred in gas furnaces, lead bath and bath mixtures containing cyanide. Inconel should not be used in salt baths contaminated by Sulphur. Super XL is rated to 1150°C (2100°F) and offers greater stability at high temperature.

The sheath is made of 316 SS. These probes can be used alone or can be placed directly into a thermowell. The spring load option should not be ordered unless a thermowell is used. All probes include a screw terminal block for easy connection of insulated copper extension wire.
OMEGA SMPW thermocouple connectors
OMEGA SMPW thermocouple connectors are mini size flat 2-pin TC connectors designed to connect temperature sensor instrumentation and a temperature controller or process control HMI automation panel. Male 2-pole TC plugs and matched female 2-prong TC jack pairs are stock items. Standard size round pin OSTW plugs, jacks and thermocouple TC connectors are also available.
SMPW is manufactured as a form fit replacement for the legacy SMP model.
OSTW Series connectors
OSTW Series connectors are standard size round pin 2-pole TC connectors. They connect or extend TC wire and cable to thermocouple sensors, temperature instrumentation and process controllers. This popular series of TC connector is available in all thermocouple calibration code colours. The contact washer feature allows the installer to use a straight wire strip. This greatly cuts installation/termination time and eliminates the torque that is normally associated with a wire that is looped around a termination screw.
OSTW-( )-F female jack is Universal it will accept standard size round pin or mini size flat pin male TC connector plugs.

Thermocouples
A thermocouple is a sensor that measures temperature. It consists of two different types of metals, joined together at one end. When the junction of the two metals is heated or cooled, a voltage is created that can be correlated back to the temperature. A thermocouple is a simple, robust and cost-effective temperature sensor used in a wide range of temperature measurement processes.
Thermocouples are manufactured in a variety of styles, such as thermocouple probes, thermocouple probes with connectors, transition joint thermocouple probes, infrared thermocouples, bare wire thermocouple or even just thermocouple wire.
Thermocouples are commonly used in a wide range of applications. Due to their wide range of models and technical specifications, but it is extremely important to understand its basic structure, functionality and ranges to better determine the right thermocouple type and material of thermocouple for an application.
How does a thermocouple work?
When two wires composed of dissimilar metals are joined at both ends and one of the ends is heated, there is a continuous current which flows in the thermoelectric circuit.
If this circuit is broken at the center, the net open circuit voltage (the Seebeck voltage) is a function of the junction temperature and the composition of the two metals. This means that when the junction of the two metals is heated or cooled, a voltage is produced that can be correlated back to the temperature.
FLOW
FMA1700A-1800A-Series | Electronic Gas Mass Flow Meter
FMA1700A-1800A-Series | Electronic Gas Mass Flow Meter allows users to monitor the flow of a wide variety of gases from 10 SCCM up to 1000 SLM. Utilizing heat transfer through a heated tube to measure molecular gas flow rate, the FMA1700A/1800A provides the measurement of direct gas mass flow rate, without the need to compensate for variations in gas temperature or pressure (within stated limits). They are available in an economical aluminum/brass construction for typical gas flows and a 316 SS construction for applications requiring more corrosion resistance.
The FMA1700A series without an integral display is supplied with a field selectable analog 0-5 Vdc or 4-20 mA output for remote monitoring; the FMA1800A series has both an integral 3½ digit display and analog output. The display is tiltable over 90° for viewing convenience. The display is calibrated standard to readout directly in SCCM or SLM for nitrogen (other gas calibrations available on special order). Due to their low cost, digital display, analog output capability, and insensitivity to variations in gas temperature and pressure, the FMA1700A/1800A Series are ideal substitutes for many Variable Area Flow Meter applications. When used with the FMA178BP portable battery pack, the FMA1800A Series is ideal for in-the-field calibration of flow meters or testing of air sampling equipment. The FMA178BP battery pack includes batteries, recharger, and carrying case with shoulder strap and belt loop. With the FMA178BP, the flow meter can operate in excess of 40 hours; the batteries can be recharged at least 200 times. The FMA1700A/1800A Series requires 12 to 26 Vdc power @ 200 mA maximum, which can be supplied by the FMA178PW plug-in socket power supply.
FMA5000A | Gas Mass Controllers with or without integral display
The FMA5400A series without an integral display is supplied with both an analog 0-5 Vdc and 4-20 mA output for remote monitoring; the FMA5500A series has both an integral 3½” digit display and analog output. The display is tiltable over 90° for viewing convenience. The display is calibrated standard to read out directly in SCCM or SLM for nitrogen (other gas calibrations available on special order).
The FMA5400A/5500A mass flow controllers feature a built-in normally closed electromagnetic valve for maintaining a constant flow rate regardless of variations in inlet or outlet pressures. The setpoint is controlled either locally via a potentiometer accessible through an access window in the case or remotely via an analog 0-5 Vdc or 4-20 mA signal (field selectable). The FMA5400A/5500A series require 12 to 26 Vdc power @ 800 mA maximum, which can be supplied by the FMA545PW wall plug-in socket power supply. 12 to 15 Vdc power @ 800 mA maximum (Sizes 43,44, and 45 ONLY). Model number FMA545C (supplied separately) provides a mating 15-pin “D” connector with 8 feet of shielded cable for accessing the analog output signals and power input connections. The LCD supplied with the FMA5500A series is connected to the lower electronics via a modular plug. The LCD can be remotely located by purchasing an FMA18RC remote cable assembly–you must then build your own assembly for panel mounting the LCD.
