  • Hazardous location approvals

2-Wire Loop-Powered & 4-Wire AC/DC-Powered Splitters

Acromag 4-20 mA Signal Splitters are available in 2-wire loop-powered and 4-wire AC/DC-powered models. The loop-powered model runs on 12-50 VDC power from the output loop, has a built-in isolated excitation supply with short circuit protection and can drive up to two field 2-wire process loops. The AC/DC-powered unit runs on 5-36 VDC SELV or 90-250 VAC with a low input burden that keeps voltage drop to less than 1.5 V for full-scale current and supports wide 0 to 1000 ohm load range with no trimming required if the load varies. Current limiting safely limits output to 27 mA. The splitters are DIN-rail mountable and feature removable terminal blocks. Both units feature pluggable terminals, zero/span trim pots and power LEDs that make installation, maintenance, and long-term service easy.

Modbus RTU Communication

Acromag’s BusWorks 900MB Series is a high-performance collection of analog and discrete I/O modules and relay alarm outputs.

Industrial Modbus RTU (Remote Terminal Unit) serial transmission mode. These units feature universal input/output ranges and an intelligent microcontroller to provide extreme flexibility and powerful monitoring and control capabilities. These Modbus RTU modules are ideal for a wide variety of distributed I/O applications including data acquisition, control, process monitoring, and test & measurement.

Modbus devices communicate using a master-slave technique in which only one device (the master) can initiate transactions (called queries). The other devices (slaves) respond by supplying the requested data to the master, or by taking the action requested in the query. A slave is any peripheral device (I/O transducer, valve, network drive, or other measuring device) that processes information and sends its output to the master using Modbus. Acromag Series 900MB I/O Modules are slave devices, while a typical master device is a host computer running appropriate application software.

Signal Converters and Process Transmitters

Process signal transmitters and signal converters isolate, filter, amplify, and convert sensor signals to 4-20 mA current or 0-10V signals for interfacing with controllers and other instrumentation. Select from 2-wire loop-powered 4-20 mA transmitters, or 4-wire AC/DC-powered transmitters. Acromag offers 3- and 4-wire models with 4-20 mA transmitters or voltage transmitters. DIN-rail and field-mount versions are available. Process transmitter configuration is easy with Windows® software, Agility® mobile app pushbuttons, switches, or pots for span/zero settings, depending on the series.

Acromag high-performance signal conditioner products include process transmitters4-20 mA signal isolatorslimit alarmssignal splitters, and math computation modules. These products isolate, amplify, filter, condition, and convert measured signals from sensors and other instruments. The enhanced signal is ready for interfacing with your PLC, DCS, display, recorder, or other process control instrumentation. Temperature transmitters convert thermocouple, RTD, and low-level temperature sensor signals to 4-20 mA, 0-10 V, or other DC voltage/current outputs. Acromag offers temperature transmitters in head-mount and DIN-rail form factors. Some temperature transmitters have software-configured universal input to convert a broad range of temperature sensors and other signals with a single unit.

Large ambient temperature range of -25° to +70°C for precise measurements

Low temperature coefficient with error <0.01 %/°C

Simple startup

Up to 1,000 measuring ranges can be set directly via DIP switches for the temperature transmitters – input and output signal types/characteristics can be set for signal/isolating converters which ensures fast startup and adaptation directly on-site without a PC and setup program

HART® device versions also via HART® Communicator and/or DTM with the PC program

PACTware – allows HART® users to perform startup with conventional tools

Device status visible from signal LED on the front of many models – errors can be quickly identified during setup, which shortens startup time

Other advantages

All terminals withstand up to ±31.2 V DC voltage – this provides protection against wiring errors as only a direct voltage of 24 V DC is used normally. High vibration resistance of up to 4 G – ensures stable measurement and/or signal behaviour even under critical conditions

Low power consumption (<0.65 to 1.2 W) reduces the cooling effort for the control cabinet

Signal converter and temperature converter

LÜTZE converters are used in many industrial applications to reliably perform a variety of tasks, such as converting signals, recording temperatures or other critical measurements and boost or separate signals.

The LÜTZE LCIS relays have extremely low heat dissipation and power loss. These innovative and functional electronics are also suited for hard to reach and remote locations, such as wind turbines. LÜTZE signal converters have a wide temperature range of -40°C to +75°C.

It is possible to use the LCIS converter in a distribution box as well, because of its compactness of only 71 mm. The corresponding marking tabs make individual labelling easy. This simplifies installation and minimizes wiring errors.
